Houston Texans shelf
My son had a plain light brown wooden book shelf in his room I wanted to spruce up so sanded it down and spray painted it red and blue. I found a bunch of pictures online of the Houston Texans printed them out and mod podged them to the ends.
Batman and Monsters University Party
I had a combined birthday for my 2 and 5 year old! I decided to do a half Dark knight half Monaters University party! There wasn't to many options for the Dark knight and my son insisted on dark knight not the "old batman" as he would say. The only real dark knight prop I could find was a life size dark knight from a local wholesale party store for about $30. I went ahead and bought a roll of black table cloth and made a bat cave in the playroom. I hung strips from the ceiling and taped it together to close up except for one side for them to skip into. Inside I hung plastic small bats and a black paper chandelier... I took two black foam boards taped them together and printed out different newspaper clippings of bruce wayne, gotham city, Bane and Harvey Dent I also printed out blue prints of Wayne manor and the batmobile I then glued them all into the foam boards to make it look like Bruce's computer screen with all his information on it. I took two bar stools wrapped them in black table cloth and set the boards on them. For the goody bags I found monsters university buckets, batman water bottles and monsters university tattoos from the same party store. I found monsters university books from the dollar spot at target and for the flashlights I went to the dollar tree and got those I had printed out the bat signal to the size I needed then took my black vinyl and cut them all out by hand. Imaginex had monsters university figurines on sale my mom found and bought the rest so we split them up between the buckets. I also found monsters university fruit pieces and filled the rest with candy.
Willy Wonka Party
I did a Willy Wonka themed party for my sons 7th birthday!!
I did all Willy Wonka candy: Giant pixy stixs, regular size pixy stixs, sweet tarts, nerds, gobstoppers, bottle caps, rope taffy, laffy taffy and water fall chocolate pieces. I found all my candy online at wholesale prices from: www.metrocandy.com and www.candywarehouse.com
I bought the rest of my decorations and goody bag fillers from a local wholesale party store. I bought a roll of purple table cloth to cover all the tables, black top hats (for Willy Wonkas hat) to fill with party favors, squish golden eggs, round thick rimmed black glasses, glow sticks and mini purple bags for the kids to fill up with candy and favors to take home. I blew up balloons rolled them in different colored cellophane and tied the sides with ribbon to look like giant candies and hung them all around the house. I also took paper plates and wrapped them with colored cellophane tied with a ribbon with a wooden dowel rode from hobby lobby taped to it to look like giant lollipops.
My son also dressed up as Willy Wonka... i bought the costume on amazon. For the cake i did a giant chocolate cupcake and for icing i did white chocolate... the white chocolate i poured over the cake to run down like a chocolate waterfall didnt quite turn out exactly how i wanted i poured the chocolate a little to early and hadnt let it cool. I also made a bunch of cake pops dipped in purple and green white chocolate and wrapped them in candy bags i got from hobby lobby. We also had a chocolate fountain and had marshmallows, rice krispies and cookies to dip.
